Hello riders! Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game is finally here, and for the occasion, we were able to dive deep into the new career mode with the help of Game Director Sebastiano Stefanetto. Check out what he has to say below!

Hi Sebastiano, thanks for joining us! Let’s get started with a much-asked question: Can you tell us about the changes the team has made to the career mode and what kind of experience we can expect?

Hello everyone, it’s so nice to be here! To sum it up, the new career mode is about your personal journey through the Supercross world, starting from the SMX Next and working your way up to the 450SX Class. We wanted to make something truly unique that will take you to the center of Supercross, replicating in a gamified way all the topical moments and events you see in the real sport.

You will start with the SMX Next, where you will be the promising young rookie who has to prove their worth to be noted by important teams and sponsors to become part of the next 250SX Class. There, you will meet your Personal Manager, who will be there to guide you through your career. In the first three races, you will learn how to manage some of the new systems added in the career.

Right from the start, you will see that in this new chapter of the Supercross series, your actions will have consequences that will affect your entire career. At the end of the SMX Next, you will face your first Climax. It is a make-it-or-break-it race where everything you have achieved in the previous rounds is summed into a unique goal. If you succeed, you are one step closer to becoming a Supercross hero. If you fail, you will have to work even harder to show that you have what it takes to race against the 450SX Class athletes.

After you win the SMX Next races, you will finally be part of the 250SX Class, where you will have to choose between the East and West divisions. The gameplay will stay the same, but you won’t be able to ride on each of the 17 tracks of the 2025 season right away, just like in the real Supercross championship.

The 250SX Class is divided into four acts, each ending in the Climax race. Once the season is over and you have achieved all the necessary goals, one of the 450SX Class teams might reach out to you, opening the doors to the Supercross Olympus. Once you’re in the Premier Class, the season structure will be similar, but you will have the chance to race on every official track available and battle with the best riders for the title.

Hey, that sounds like a blast! In Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game there are new mechanics that will be shown during the career. Can you tell us about them and how they affect gameplay?

Sure! We have many innovations in the new game but mainly three of them will shake things up during your career: the Climaxes, the Social Network, and the Bike Development. They are all part of a brilliant code that integrates every single aspect of the career, making it the most emotionally engaging Supercross experience to date.

The Social Network is a brand-new feature that lets you communicate with your team and the other riders. Remember, everything you do on it will have repercussions on track and vice versa. For example, if a rider has a mean comment for you on your feed based on your performance in the previous race, you will see him on track acting reckless and bold in the next one, if you reply to him. On the other hand, if you keep bumping into a rider during a race, he will become more aggressive, and you will see his comments on the Social Network once you’re back at your base. Also, rivalries don’t reset every season. If you are not on good terms with a rider at the end of a championship, they will be back in the next season ready for revenge.

Rivals also play a key role in the Climax races; you will need to beat them to move to the next level. You will see a special cutscene and your rival will be highlighted on the HUD and leaderboard during the race so you will never miss his position.

Supercross 25 has a new bike development system, based on your relationship with the team. You can influence the reputation you have with the team by reaching all the objectives and interacting with them on the Social Network. This will give you more and quicker opportunities to improve your bike. Keep in mind that applying upgrades takes time, so think carefully about what you want to improve and how to make it happen faster with your reputation. Thanks to special sections of the career, you can constantly check the status of your team but also check the other teams to see if one of them is eventually interested in you.

Reputation and relationships are going to be super important! We have one last question for you: this new Supercross chapter is going to include fictional MX tracks for the first time. Can you tell us a bit about them and where the team has found the inspiration?

We know how much excitement and adrenaline a classic Supercross race can bring. That’s why we wanted to include the MX tracks and the Rhythm Attack to give you a different moment in your career. Usually, you will be invited to special events set on those tracks right after the Climax race. You will have to approach these events differently because the tracks differ a lot from the usual stadium ones, and the stakes are lower too. Participating in these events is very important to boost your reputation further. You can gain followers and show the audience your abilities in a new setting.

The team that designed these tracks is made up of true motocross track-building veterans. They have put all their years of experience into creating realistic tracks that reflect the variety that you would find in motocross in real life. We wanted to take you on a journey across the USA, so you will find some of the most iconic landscapes. I am excited to see you lapping around those environments!

This past weekend during the  SuperMotocross World Championship Final held in Las Vegas, Milestone and Feld Motor Sports, Inc. revealed a teaser trailer for “Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game” in venue at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and on air in the live Peacock broadcast.

Two years since the last instalment, the video offers a glimpse of what’s to come in the new chapter of the franchise, which has been rebuilt from the ground up to offer Supercross fans the most authentic and engaging gaming experience yet. For the first time, players will get to live the thrills of the current season and even anticipate the official schedule by racing with the 2025 official rosters, tracks, and bikes alongside the course of the real 2025 championship season. Making the most out of Unreal Engine 5, the game will feature unprecedented graphics as well as a new physics system to deliver a whole new level of realism and simulation. Meeting one of the strongest requests of the community, “Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game” introduces a dynamic terrain deformation system with evolving ruts. Beyond visual evidence, these will add a fresh layer of dynamism to the gameplay, as tracks will now change at every lap with dirt accumulating on the terrain and creating banks and ruts.

Round 4 of the 2024 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship brought the season’s first Triple Crown event to Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. The Triple Crowd trades the qualifying structure for three 12-minute Races. Scores from each race combine to determine the night’s overall winner.

In Race #1, Red Bull KTM’s Chase Sexton got into the lead from the start and took off. In the first rhythm lane Team Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence crashed and ran-out of the incident; his body never hit the ground but he found himself far behind the pack. Sexton took the win with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Cooper Webb finishing second and Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki’s Ken Roczen earning third. In Race #2 Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado got the Holeshot but Webb took over the lead before the second corner. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson let it hang out with his loose style, took over the lead, and carried it to the win. Webb held onto second and Jett Lawrence worked his way up from a bad start to grab third. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac led the pack from the start of Race #3. Anderson went down on the opening lap then accelerated alongside the track to resume the race from last place; he would later be penalized one position for the rule infraction. Tomac gapped the field while Sexton, Red Bull KTM’s Aaron Plessinger, and Lawrence battled for position. Lawrence got as far as second before crashing back to fourth on the last lap. In the overall results Webb took the victory with (2-2-5) race finishes, Tomac earned second overall with a (5-7-1) and Plessinger followed up last weekend’s win with a third place via (6-4-3) race finishes.

Cooper Webb – First Place (2-2-5) – 450SX Class

David Bailey’s insights: “I like that Webb is returned to that form that he had at the end of his 250 career and when he was really doing well on the 450s. He’s had good seasons but he’s got that look [again] in these [2024] rounds. He was going for second at Anaheim 1. He knows that he might have even closed the gap on Jett; he beat him in the heat. So he was strong there. San Francisco, it’s a little bit hard to judge from that; but he had some mud in San Diego and he looked really strong. And he looked again really strong [at A2]. I believe that he believes and when you get a Webb that’s that skilled and that fundamentally sound, that believes and has won before – man, he is a contender, big time.”

Eli Tomac – Second Place (5-7-1) – 450SX Class

David Bailey’s insights: “I was watching a piece of footage, I think it was just from a fan or somebody that was at press day [for A2], and instantly – I wasn’t looking for it, I didn’t expect anything, I was just watching to see what I could see, and immediately he stood out as just throwing the bike around like it was a 125. Back to that, ‘Hey, this is fun, and I got way more under the hood than you guys have seen so far.’ And starting to feel it. That’s what I saw. Then I heard Ricky say that [same thing] toward the end of the broadcast, and his results showed. So sometimes you see in a rider that extra little bit of body English that they put into things when they’re comfortable; he looked like that on Friday and it just carried right through. Starts, of course, are tough, and [the top riders are] going to get stuck [in the back this year]. When he was battling Sexton in the second race, I remember thinking they were probably in fourth and fifth, but they were in about twelfth. So to have that kind of depth, and to be coming back from an injury – where I think a lot of us thought, ‘Gosh, if he never comes back from that…’ ‘He went out on top and he’s got nothing to prove,’ and ‘That’s a major thing to come back from. Is he even motivated at this age?’ Well, he answered that this weekend. So he’s there just as strong as Webb, if not stronger, because he’s been ‘the guy’ more recently. So those two guys, feeding off each other, even if they’re not sharing information – it would be like me and Johnson back in ’86. We didn’t share a lot of information, but I knew if he was fast, I’d better be fast, and vice versa. So those two, I think, are going to be real tough to scoot out of the way for the rest of the guys.”

Aaron Plessinger – Third Place (6-4-3) – 450SX Class

David Bailey’s insights: “There was an outdoor moto, maybe two years ago now, at Southwick. It was the second moto specifically. And all the sudden I became a believer looking at the way he handled that rough track – what he wheelied over, the speed and the way that he rode, I thought, ‘Man, there’s something there that I never noticed before.’ And it’s kind of been a little bit un-noticed until last year in Detroit, which is this [upcoming] weekend, when he almost won. And it was like, ‘Okay, everyone has a foul-up here and there but we could see that that was his race to win.’ And that’s where they’re going, and he has the red plate. So to me, those couple of mud races maybe helped him, I don’t know exactly why; but I think he was fast already, he showed that at A1. There’s always a lot of guys, but then after a few rounds there’s three of four really serious guys that you would put money on to win the championship. I would’ve bet on Tomac and Sexton and Webb and I would add Lawrence to that, but now I’m adding Plessinger to that. He looks like one of those guys. And I think he’s comfortable with it. He doesn’t care how old he is, he doesn’t care about anything other than, “Hey, man, I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere.” And I love that little interview I saw of him saying, “I’m here,” and he just laughed like, “I don’t know what else to say.” And his results proved it. He’s also got some really cool body English. He keeps really good forward momentum through obstacles, which is something that Jeremy made popular. He’s doing something similar, and got my eye, and he’s heading to some place [Detroit] that probably feels like, ‘Man, let me prove I should’ve won this thing last year.’ If he did that, wow, then you add him to that big four, you’ve got five real contenders.”

Jason Anderson – Fourth Place (4-1-8) – 450SX Class

David Bailey’s insights: “Well, when I saw him upshifting down the side [of the track after his first lap crash] I was like, ‘Nah, that’s probably going to come back [to bite him]’ So I’m not saying he shouldn’t have gotten that [penalty], I just – it drives me a little bit nuts. Not in that exact scenario, because it was right off the bat, and it’s wasn’t like he gained a lot, but he did hurry back up to the tail end and help himself. So a slap on the hand might have been a better thing in that particular case. But either way, he showed that whether it’s some rookie firing him up and he comes out a little more serious, or if it was just time and [he had] a dry race – he’s won before. He knows how to win a championship.”

The 450SX Class has seen four different winners so far in the first four rounds

David Bailey’s insights: I think all these guys that I just mentioned… I don’t think anybody else outside of that can penetrate that with a championship vote from me. Those six guys – the other guys are great. They may win some, but these six that we’ve talked about so far, [for 2024 are] like, ‘Let me get one more,’ or like in Jett’s case, ‘Let me get one.’ They all have this correct motivation, as far as I’m concerned. Tomac, ‘Hey, man, let me just pick up where I left off. Why not?’ And he kinda is. He’s just as good as he was before as far as I’m concerned. Webb, ‘Hey, man, I’ve done this before, I’m going to do it again before it’s too late.’ Sexton, ‘Let me prove that I could’ve won. I was the guy, and I’m not running this number one because it was, you know, [good] fortune. I’m that good.’ And Jett is obvious. These guys all have the ability, the experience, and the urgency. So from a fan and somebody who used to race and knows what’s going through your mind when you’re on the gate and on the left of you there’s four fast guys, and just to your right are two more, you’re like, “Ah! I have to get the start!” It’s fantastic to see these guys healthy. And I’m not too big on [them being] all chummy after the race and too friendly, but I do appreciate that they stop for a sec, ‘Hey, good job.’ Because: four races, four different winners, they’re happy for each other. But in that helmet, man, it’s going to start getting heated.”

Ken Roczen – Seventh Place (3-6-10) – 450SX Class

David Bailey’s insights: “He is unbelievable. If you ask who’s the most talented rider out there, of anybody, I’d say it’s kinda of a tie between him and things that Jett does and things that Tomac does. He’s amazing, but it’s like he walked under a ladder or something. Just nothing is going his way. Sometimes you kind of put yourself in those positions. You don’t mean to, but you just sort of end up there, you know? Like, weird stuff always happens to you. So if he could somehow get out from underneath that little cloud, then he would’ve been a contender [at A2] for the podium for sure. And he will be again. There’s two more of those [Triple Crown] rounds, which seem to benefit him. He won all three of those races once. He’s really good at that, and he just didn’t get a chance to shine. Then say with, for example, Malcolm Stewart. It’s just, like, ‘Oh no, why is he in last?’ And it’s tough to do much from there with, let’s just say four or five extra [championship level] guys this year that you’ve got to pass to get to the front. It makes it really tough for a guy like Tomac or Sexton, when they have a mess-up in the early part of the race, or anywhere, to try to recover. Now you’ve got to pass, you know, three guys, and two of ‘em are former champions. I think that all these guys are kind of licking their chops thinking, ‘If I just am consistent, I ought to be able to be there at the end.’ But I’m pretty sure they’re all thinking that way. As a fan, it’s excellent. I was talking to my dad this morning, he goes, ‘Man it reminds me of the early ‘80s when you were racing and there were so many guys that could win, and did win.’ We’re back to that, you know? Each year, they’re like, ‘Hey, it’s stacked…’ but not really. This year is it, and what a treat.”

David Bailey’s insights: “I went to San Diego [two weekends ago]. I haven’t been in a while and I thought it would be good to see one live and get a sense. And what I felt, and I mean I felt it, was behind the starting line [in the stadium] for the 450 heats… when that 30 second board goes up and it’s kinda getting down to [where] it’s going to go sideways pretty soon, for those heats and especially the main, oh, you could just feel like, ‘These guys are good. And there’s a bunch of them. And anything can happen.’ Like, if Ferrandis won one of those motos last night, ‘I’m not surprised.’ If Stewart won one, ‘I’m not surprised.’ If Barcia won one, ‘I’m not surprised.’ And that’s not even the favorites. So yeah, it’s really cool to see this.

The Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship heads east for Round 5 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The event is an early daytime race airing live on NBC and Peacock; the gate will drop at 3:00 PM Eastern Time. The event kicks off the first race of the nine-round Eastern Regional 250SX Class Championship. And as with every round, the Detroit Supercross pays points toward the 31-round SuperMotocross World Championship.

Triumph Motorcycles will enter the SuperMotocross World Championship at the start of the 2024 season, with the single-minded ambition and commitment to develop a championship-winning team.

Triumph consulted Global Off-Road Ambassador Ricky Carmichael to achieve the vision. With the input from the greatest Supercross and Motocross racer of all time, Triumph has assembled a veteran team of managers with championship winning experience to helm the all-new United States based Triumph factory race team. The US motocross program, operating under the all-new global Triumph Racing banner, will be led by Team Principal Bobby Hewitt and Team Manager Stephen ‘Scuba’ Westfall. The team will be located at a dedicated new state-of-the-art private race facility in the USA.

The new Triumph Racing Factory Team will field its all-new Triumph 250cc 4-stroke MX bikes in the 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship, which is comprised of the Monster Energy Supercross World Championship and the Pro Motocross Championship, with three season-ending SuperMotocross rounds. For the 2025 season, Triumph will additionally field its new 450cc bike in the SuperMotocross World Championship.

Further demonstrating the team’s commitment to success, Hewitt has recruited a pair of legendary engineers to develop the team’s motorcycles. AMA Hall of Fame inductee Dave Arnold joins the team as Lead Chassis Engineer and Dudley Cramond joins as Lead Powertrain Engineer, each bringing incredible technical experience and talent to the team. All members of the team have an enviable history of success at the Pro and top Amateur level, with a racing record that speaks for itself, and together with Triumph share the long-term vision and commitment to deliver the highest level of success in racing competition.

The US based Triumph Racing Team, along with the recently announced Triumph Racing team based in Europe created in partnership with Thierry Chizat-Suzzoni, will both collaborate with the Triumph Factory. The latter team will compete in the FIM Motocross World Championship, with entry into the 250cc MX2 class in 2024, and the 450cc MXGP class in 2025. Both teams will be backed by a dedicated in-house off-road design engineering department within Triumph Global Headquarters in Hinckley, UK. where all the brand’s research, design, engineering development and prototype builds are located. Engineering teams from the Triumph factory and both new race teams have been working closely together on enhancing chassis and engine performance through an intensive testing schedule underway in the USA, UK, and mainland Europe.

Both race teams have been working on joint testing of the new Triumph motocross bikes. They’re sharing key data and rider feedback on the specifications, performance characteristics, and components with the Factory engineering group responsible for the concept and development of the powertrains and chassis for the all-new MX and dual sport motorcycle range. The insights of this race development information are being fed directly into each model of new Triumph motocross range. Additional launch details of the new Triumph off-road range will be made public in the near future.

This new team competing in the SuperMotocross World Championship is a significant addition to the Triumph Racing worldwide portfolio. Triumph Racing, which is based at the Triumph Global Headquarters in Hinckley, UK also features Triumph as the exclusive engine raced in the FIM Moto2 World Championship and includes Triumph powered teams competing in Supersport racing.

Further information about the Triumph Racing entry into the SuperMotocross World Championship, with the 250cc bike in 2024 and the 450cc bike in 2025, will be announced next year.

The Monster Energy® Kawasaki race team is preparing to line up in January for the AMA Supercross Championship and AMA Pro Motocross Championship in 2022. Team Green Kawasaki graduate, 2019 AMA Motocross 250 Champion and Monster Energy Cup Champion Adam Cianciarulo will compete in his third year aboard the KX450 with focus on the top step of the podium. Cianciarulo will be joined by 2018 AMA Supercross Champion Jason Anderson stacking Kawasaki with two championship contenders in 2022. In addition, Kawasaki welcomes Broc Tickle to the team as a testing and development team member.

“We have a very strong 2022 team roster,” said Kawasaki Racing Senior Manager, Dan Fahie. “We are pleased to welcome Jason to the team and to continue reaching for our shared goals with Adam as he steps into his third year of 450 racing. We have learned a lot about our KX450 and are in a good place heading into 2022 with the development of the motorcycle. It is a pleasure to be working with Broc again, he is a great rider and we believe he will be a great asset to our racing program.”

Anderson closed out his amateur racing career with Kawasaki Team Green, winning the AMA Horizon Award aboard a KX250 before moving on to become a 250 Supercross West Champion. Well proven in his career, Anderson has five 250SX wins, seven 450SX wins and 53 combined 450 podium finishes to his name. Now reunited with Kawasaki, Anderson is prepared to repeat his former success and fight for premier class supremacy in both the AMA Supercross and AMA Pro Motocross Championships.

“It’s great to join the Monster Energy Kawasaki race team for 2022,” said Anderson. “I’m ready to start working with the team to have a successful run right out of the gate when we go racing in January. The bike is proven, and the many accolades of the team speak volumes to what we can achieve together. I’m looking forward to the good times ahead.”

Meanwhile, Cianciarulo hopes to see his record-setting amateur years with the Kawasaki Team Green race team and success underneath the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team awning reach a culmination in 2022 with his goal of championship contention in the upcoming year of premier class racing. Building from his AMA Pro Motocross Rookie of the Year honors that came along with second place in the 2020 450MX Pro Motocross standings, Cianciarulo led 51 laps during the 2021 season and secured three overall podiums. Cianciarulo now looks to capitalize on a full off-season of development with the team to claim the top step of the podium in 2022.

“I’m ready for the 2022 season,” said Cianciarulo. “I’ve had a lot of great experiences in my first two seasons with the team. We have made major strides together and are positioned to perform at our very best in this upcoming year of racing. I look forward to continuing to improve and reaching our goals together.”

The Monster Energy Kawasaki racing team will also welcome Tickle back to Team Green as an official testing and development team member for the 2022 season. A former 250 Supercross West Champion as a part of the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki team, Tickle has celebrated much success with Kawasaki and will now offer vital support to the Kawasaki racing effort.  

“I am really thankful for this opportunity with Kawasaki,” said Tickle. “I will be helping test the KX450 and provide the team with information and feedback that makes a positive impact on the track with Adam and Jason. It’s been an awesome start for me to be around a solid group of professionals all working towards the same goal. It’s also nice to be around a familiar group that I’ve worked with before and they’ve all been very welcoming.” 

The Monster Energy Kawasaki team is already hard at work preparing for the 2022 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season that is slated to begin in Anaheim, California on Saturday, January 8.
